Howdy Everyone, Earbuds are a blessing and a curse. They let you enjoy your music while doing other things, but they can also make it difficult to hear the world around you. You may not be aware of how loud your music is or when someone is trying to talk to you because the earbuds are plugged up your ears! That’s why it’s important that if you use earbuds regularly, they should be cleaned at least once every two weeks. This article will show you how to clean them properly so that they last longer and sound better.
Use a cleaning solution
The first step is to use a cleaning solution on the earbuds. However, all that most people have around is rubbing alcohol and water, which don’t cut through the gummy buildup between the nozzle and eardrum very well. The best way to remove this gunk so it doesn’t go back into your ears is by using denatured alcohol. Alternatively lemon juice or vinegar – diluted with water – work as well. Denatured alcohol dries up more quickly than plain isopropyl or rubbing alcohol does. Using a combination of denatured alcohol and water also helps to break up the earbud build-up.
Cleaning your earbuds at home
1. Take the earbuds out of your ears.
2. Gently blow into each earbud, if there is any dust or dirt inside of them, it will come out. Repeat this step until no more dust or dirt comes out of the buds.
3. “Unscrew” the back covers from the connector end, then slide off the cover and reveal all of its components underneath. The cover may be hard to remove in which case you can stick a flat head screwdriver between one side of it and a part that holds it down and use it as leverage to pop off the back part (some backs are easy to pop off while others are not so much).
4. Take cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol and gently clean off the copper connectors and the cover of each earbud. After rubbing alcohol is applied, use a fresh swab every time you rub the connector to avoid spreading dirt into other areas of the earbuds.
5. After finished cleaning both left and right buds together, repeat steps 3-4 on both sides separately again (one ear at a time) with another cotton swab dipped in alcohol to make sure there are no more old particles clinging onto any part of your earphones.
6. After you have cleaned them thoroughly, wipe them down with a clean towel or microfiber cloth that has been dampened slightly so as not to damage the brightness of their external finish.
7. Finally, after all this work, plug them back into your ears and close the back covers over its connectors again. Be sure not to place them upside down as this can sometimes cause damage to your earbuds.

There are a couple of things you can do to protect your earbuds from splashing: · You can wrap the earbuds around something that’s made of water-resistant material.
The most common example of this is a rubber or plastic case that you can place over your earbuds. You can also put a rubber band around the earbuds.
